And the twist is that you’ll be able to crochet a cute little valentine axolotl amigurumi. Imagine a cute little Axolotl aka the Mexican walking fish but in a fun valentine’s vibe. I absolutely loved creating this free crochet axolotl pattern and I hope you enjoy crocheting it too. May I introduce Tiamo – the chubby-hearted amigurumi axolotl – the first amigurumi revealed in the Roly-Poly Mystery Collection.

WHO IS ROLY-POLY AXOLOTL?
Tiamo – the Valentine Axololt amigurumi is the first design inside a cool collection named “Roly-Poly Mystery Collection” – a year-long collaboration between Anvi’s Granny and Hooked By Kati. It is my big pleasure to work with my crochet friend, Kati of Hooked by Kati, to introduce to you the cool chubby animals each month! The coolest thing: all the patterns are no-sew amigurumi designs, which are great for busy crocheters who don’t want to struggle with sewing tasks.
And like the name of the collection, you don’t know which animals will be there There are some real animals and some fantasy creatures, but I promise, they are all cute and fun to crochet!
Each month, on the first Friday of the month, a new pattern will be released! I am so excited to show you all the fabulous animals and even more excited to see your makes from the patterns.
This month’s mystery animal – Tiamo the axolotl, was designed by me – Joy of Anvi’s Granny.

A VALENTINE AXOLOTL TOY
Yup, the valentine amigurumi sea animal crochet pattern is a no-sew crochet project, isn’t it cool? I love axolotl and really wanna have a whole collection of axolotl amigurumi with different topics.
When I and Kati discussed which animals to crochet in the Roly-Poly Mystery, the first one that popped up in my head was Axolotl. Haha. I am a true axolotl lover. Comment below if you love the weird but super cute creatures like me to let me know.
I was struggling to create an axolotl in Valentine’s theme, and no-sew, but finally, Tiamo came out so cute with 7 hearts on her body. Tiamo’s mission is to spread love all over the world. I hope you will crochet her and help her in the mission.
With this pattern, you don’t need to sew at all! And as a print-friendly version, with more than 30 tutorial photos, I hope you enjoy my effort to make the convenient pattern as much as I can.

BEFORE CROCHETING
Materials and tools
Medium/Worsted weight yarn (I used 3 strands of 1mm cotton yarn)
3.5mm hook (I use Furls Crochet hook)
Safety eyes 10mm
Yarn needle, scissors, polyfill, stitch marker
Embroidery thread in black (or 1 strand of 1mm yarn)

Some techniques that you need in this project:
Basic crochet stitches for amigurumi
Increase and invisible decrease crochet

Abbreviations (Symbols- US term)
You might not use all the abbreviations in the amigurumi crochet pattern but I still want to show you all just to refer. They are all easy to remember and follow.
MR: magic ring
CH: chain
X – sc: Single crochet
T -hdc: half double crochet
F – dc: double crochet
E – tr: Triple crochet
V – inc: Increase (make 2 stitches in 1 stitch)
W – 3 sts in same st: (make 3 stitches in 1 stitch)
A – dec: Decrease (make 1 stitch from 2 stitches)
M – make 1st from 3sts: Decrease (make 1 stitch from 3 stitches)
TV, FV, EV – hdcinc, dcinc, trinc: Increase with half double crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet
TA, FA, EA – hdcdec, dcdec, trdec: Decrease with half double crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet
BLO: Back loop only
FLO: Front loop only
SS – ss: slip stitch
FO: Fasten off
