Who is Koya BT21?
Yeah, we are talking about Koya Kpop BTS BT21 Doll Crochet Amigurumi Free pattern here. But who is Koya and who are BT21 characters? In each post of the BT21 character crochet free pattern, I will mention that character so you are gonna have an idea about who they are.
You might have seen these cute little characters in your free sticker options in messaging apps like LINE or Facebook. Well, they are BT21 – created by global Kpop icons BTS.
The characters were born back in late September 2017, when BTS joined LINE Friends’ Creators initiative, a project where the brand work with global artists on characters and product ideas.
STORY OF UNIVERSTAR BT21
Hailing from Planet BT, Prince TATA dreams to spread love across the galaxy. Deciding that destiny is at hand, TATA summons guardian robot VAN to prepare for an interstellar journey to Earth. Shortly after arrival, the Prince concludes that the most effective means to win over the hearts of earthlings is to become a super, no… something much more ambitious. A UNIVERSTAR. Realizing that a collective effort is crucial, TATA & VAN scout for like-minded hopefuls to share in the dream. Soon they discover 6- KOYA, RJ, SHOOKY, MANG, CHIMMY, and COOKY- to become what will be known as the most influential pop-culture sensation the galaxy has ever witnessed. BT21.

- DK yarn or worsted weight yarn (Some of my favorite yarns for amigurumi: Lion Brand, Jeans Yarnart, Red Heart)
- 2.5mm hook for DK and 3.5mm for worsted weight yarn (My most used hooks: Tulip, Clover, Furls Crochet)
- Yarn needle, tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Polyfill
- Stitch marker
- Safety eyes or embroidery thread
- You also can consider getting the whole kit for beginners.

Difficulty Level
Level required: Intermediate but it is also a beginner-friendly free amigurumi crochet pattern.

You might not use all the abbreviations in the amigurumi crochet pattern but I still want to show you all just to refer. They are all easy to remember and follow.
MR: magic ring
CH: chain
X – sc: Single crochet
T -hdc: half double crochet
F – dc: double crochet
E – tr: Triple crochet
V – inc: Increase (make 2 stitches in 1 stitch)
W – 3 sts in same st: (make 3 stitches in 1 stitch)
A – dec: Decrease (make 1 stitch from 2 stitches)
M – make 1st from 3sts: Decrease (make 1 stitch from 3 stitches)
TV, FV, EV – hdcinc, dcinc, trinc: Increase with half double crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet
TA, FA, EA – hdcdec, dcdec, trdec: Decrease with half double crochet, double crochet, and triple crochet
BLO: Back loop only
FLO: Front loop only
SS – ss: slip stitch

Ears: Sew part #1 in the center of part #2. Sew ears in R12 of the head (opposite from the MR).
Embroider the eyes at rows 23-24, 5sts width, 9sts apart.
Stuff the nose, sew to the head at rows 23-31.
Embroider the mouth below the nose at row 33, width 7-8 sts.
Sew head to the body, stuff firmly before closing the open between head and neck to form the neck.
Sew arms to the body below the neck.
Sew the stomach to the body in the second row from the neck.
